It all started when my Great-Great Grandfather Bucklin Harris bought a farm because he liked the barn. We're still farming that land and the barn still stands. Family is very important to us. Without family we wouldn't have any of this. We are so blessed to be able to work the land we love, with the people we love.
Our Farm

We've been doing this for a while now, but farming is constantly changing. In 150 years of farming my family has went from horse and plow to giant tractors and combines guided by satelites. It's exciting to think of what changes we'll have over the next 50 years.
Strategy

Our strategy is to get the most crop with the least invested. Healthy soils and cover crops is how we get to that point. It's not an easy fix or an overnight solution. It takes patience, determination, and focus to get there.
Wildlife

We're hunters and fishermen. We've seen a huge increase in the wildlife populations since we adopted cover crop practices. We've also improved water quality for the water running off our farm.
Environment

Cover crops are a large part of our operation. Our goal is to have something growing on every acre, every day of the year. Cover crops catch and hold any extra fertilizer until the next crop arrives. They also improve water infiltration which decreases soil erosion.
